Jen and Dan’s Rustic Summer Wedding.

382

On the 17th June this year, my younger Sister Jen married Dan, at our family Farm in St Allen, near Truro. Being one of the hottest days of the year we had our work cut out to make sure all the flowers looked fresh for the Wedding. (This was when our flower fridge came in handy!)
Jen wanted bright coloured flowers, as she choose Royal Blue and Mint bridesmaid dresses from Amanda K Bridal and Debenhams. I suggested Electric Blue Hydrangeas, Magenta Pink and Coral Peonies (one of Jen’s favorite flowers) Mint succulents, bright Blue Cornflowers and Electric blue Delphiniums. These were made into handtieds for the bridesmaids with trailing ribbons and an Cornucopia bouquet for Jen to compliment her beautiful gown from Amanda K Bridal.
The Men carried off their Cornflower and succulent buttonholes with their tweed waistcoats and Navy Suits.

Being a Farmers Daughter, Jen arrived at the Church with my very proud Dad, Roger. On a family vintage Tractor decorated with Ribbons.

The reception was in my Dad’s agricultural shed and Jen and Dan wanted a relaxed Party like atmosphere. So I suggested a Ribbon Garland and Fairy light ceiling. Something I have been wanted to make for a while, so after measuring up and ordering the Ribbon, work started on this back in March. The effect of these garlands were incredible and at night with the fairy lights it really bought the party alive. These were enhanced with white voile drapes.(Available to hire from Wedding Flowers in Cornwall.) With real flower tie backs. In the centre of the shed I hung a 3 metre builders wooden ladder from the ceiling and decorated it with all the flowers of the wedding and copper wired fairy lights, with hanging glass spheres filled with Peony, Hydrangea and Succulent heads.

Finished with mercury urns and Blue bottles filled with gorgeous Hydrangeas, Roses, Delphiniums, Succulents and Peonies. Linked with mercury Tealights.
